Who I am …

Central to my work is a deep respect for parental autonomy—I honour parents and caregivers as the experts on their own children and family. My role is to provide information, perspectives, and practical strategies so you can make informed decisions that align with your values, goals, and vision for your family. I never dictate “the right way”; instead, I partner with you to build confidence in your choices. I work compassionately with parents, caregivers, children, and families facing a wide range of experiences: parenting stress, emotional regulation difficulties, family relationship challenges, school-home dynamics, homeschooling journeys, and the many transitions involved in settling into life in Canada as newcomers.

My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and deeply respectful of each family’s unique values, culture, circumstances, and strengths. Drawing from my background as a special education teacher and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)—with a Master’s in Psychology and valid teaching licenses in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon—I bring a unique blend of educational insight and psychological expertise.

I have spent years working directly with children, parents, and school teams on Individual Education Plans (IEPs), diverse learning needs, and English as a Second Language (ESL) support have shown me how deeply intertwined learning, behaviour, emotions, and family life truly are. I also understand firsthand how confusing, stressful, and unfamiliar educational systems and cultural expectations can feel—especially for newcomer families navigating new norms and structures. As a mother of three young boys, including twins, I live the realities of family life: the joy, the exhaustion, the beautiful mess, and the profound meaning it holds. This personal experience deepens my empathy and humility in our work together, while I remain firmly anchored in professional boundaries, evidence-informed practices, and ethical standards.

In sessions, we build a strong therapeutic relationship focused on practical, tailored strategies to nurture emotional well-being, improve communication, strengthen connections, and support daily family life. We may explore attachment patterns, emotional awareness, coping skills, behavioural supports, and family dynamics—all customized to your family’s specific needs and goals. I strive to create a space that feels truly safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive, where every family member feels seen, heard, and respected.

If you’re feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or simply ready for some gentle, expert guidance as you navigate parenting, family dynamics, learning transitions, or newcomer experiences—you are not alone. It would be my honour to walk alongside you and your family, helping to foster calmer homes, stronger bonds, and greater confidence for the road ahead.

Feel free to reach out for a warm, no-pressure consultation. I look forward to supporting you.
